you'll be waiting a while longer for a price drop on fallout 3 ... it was distrubuted by Red Ant who recently went bust. until someone else picks up the distribution for Bethesda retailers won't have any access to cheaper stock.
Ah thanks for the info, I was wondering why the price hadn't dropped since release.
I've been waiting for months and there still hasn't been a bargain for Fallout 3 icon_sad.gif

*waits longer*
I thought it was terrible really. None of the people I saw it with were impressed, there was just too much bullshit.

There were a few good parts, and I really liked the Comedian, but the poor writing let it down.

6/10
Re: Overclocking (1 year ago)
Use Coretemp to monitor temperatures.

I get less fps lag in Left4Dead now, noticeably different, but that's the only recent game I've got so I can't really compare benchmarks. 1.6 isn't really demanding!
Re: Overclocking (1 year ago)
It's worth a try.

I bought a Noctua hsf and my Q6600 is at 3.00GHz and still hasn't gotten above 50deg even though it's like 35deg ambient atm. The difference in general use is noticeable, I didn't benchmark or anything though :/
High school students only unfortunately.
+1 to Blast Hardbody

For Dead Space and Gears of War 2.

Thanks again.
The Darkness or Stranglehold for Lost Planet?
Do not get 64bit XP.

I'd say get 64bit Vista so you use all that RAM, as 32bit XP will only be able to use a maximum of 3.5GB. DX10 is always a good thing too.

I dual boot 32bit XP and 64bit Vista, I have no issue with either.
Is this the code for the golden gun?

If it's only used online someone else can have it, but if it's used in SP I'd love one!

Cheers.
lol the shop is called Game.
Took advantage of Steams sale and bought;

Stalker - 3.74
Peggle Deluxe - 4.99
Doom 2 - 0.99

All for less than $10 US is too good to pass up.

It'll cost you about $1150 for these parts
-ASUS socket 775 mobo (~$100)
-Intel E8500 ($280)
-Kingston 2gb (2x1gb) DDR2-667 Ram ($50)
-500gb HDD (~$90)
-ASUS 512mb 4870 ($365)
-Coolermaster case ($70)
-Coolermaster 650W PSU ($160)
E8400 to save a little $. You could also save more by going with a E7300

Why 667MHz when 800MHz is pretty much costs the same. I got 4GB Kingston 800MHz for $72 a few weeks back. Oh and wtf a quick look at msys current prices and it's on special for $60.

I'd recommend Gigabyte over Asus, but that's a personal preference.
Why are you going AMD? That processor has a tiny cache and a low stock clock compared to its Intel counterparts. If you want a quad you can't go wrong with a Q6600. But, idk if Crysis is optimised for a quad, so you might be better off getting a E8400/8500.

4GB ram is fine. You probably only have a 32bit operating system which means you will only be able to effectively use 3.5GB anyway. You'd probably want to get 64bit Vista anyway for the ability to expand on your ram and DX10.

Part performance varies from game to game, but if it's Crysis in particular I believe NVIDIA has the up on ATI in terms of drivers specifically for Crysis. Those benchmarks I posted can be used as a rough guide, look up other benchmarks for fairly objective answers.
Bah still too many loose ends!

What a great show though, I'm going to miss it.
ffs do you even read your own posts or their responses? I never once recommended the quad over the dual, I was just pointing out how bloody stupid and ignorant your comments were and from that the thread starter can make their own decisions based off of their needs.

Oh and that first post I made wasn't directed at the thread starter, was it?

The links work fine, I bet you're using IE.

How is it trolling? I posted benchmarks comparing the two gpus he is looking at. The 4870 is better by 15-30% at 1920x1200 for all new games, and if you're spending that much on a computer to play at anything less than that resolution is a waste. I also pointed out your ignorant statement about quads which you are assuming a lot about, and if the thread starter is to make an informed decision he would be better of to not take your advice.

There's no such thing as future proof, that's just people kidding themselves.

You obviously care enough to neg me for negging you.
Oh. My. God.

What a god damn episode.

Ur links arent working , Kept it open for 5 mins

Your still not making sense to be about quad cores being the same as dual.

Each core does not work at 100% so it is not better unlike someone else said if you like running 4 programs at the same time then its fine , but this is PALGN , GN for Gaming Network? G-G-G-GAME.
Nice, more unfounded excuses.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

Also I negged you for being rude, yet you're negging me for being right?
MazzarX wrote
Lol , Please tell me what game uses Quad core better then a faster dual core.
How does a quad not being optimised for games any more than a dual imply that a quad is useless?

MazzarX wrote
LOL , Where did you get 25% from? I can see your talking out of your arse there , A 4850 and a 4870 are very similar , the 4870 is for freaks who want to use Bigger then 24" Monitors.

That setup is fine except what do you need 1066MHz RAM for? Do you plan to do some serious overclocking or something? Save some money on RAM and get better speakers. If you have any money left over, which you should, you might want to look into the 4870x2.

Yes why did they even bother making it at all?!

4870 is only like 5% better
Actually closer to 25% but who's counting.
Buggy gameplay is a symptom of developers being able to patch games after they're released. If that weren't an option their releases would be more robust.

Also they should have had a beta (or a longer one if there was one) for the Gears of War 2 multiplayer if they knew the matchmaking would be an issue. Refining something that should work after release is terrible complacency.
Left 4 Dead off of Steam for $69.06

Damn the recession!

Unlocks on the day of my last exam though =D

That's awesome. That looks like Haruhi next to her, have you got the rest of the Brigade?
I can't say that I am a fanboy of any consoles this generation.

Christian Bale on the other hand...
