So animal buddies are confirmed out because they're all blazin up?
Different shades of grey buttons look like arse, if they wanted it to be stylish they should all be the same colour, if they wanted to keep the functionality of having each one instantly recognisable by colour, then keep the colours.

The whole controller just looks like a black and white picture of the old controller, thats not stylish at all. Plus it matches nothing.

D-Pad is a cool idea if it works properly though.
1500 Microsoft points for Dead Rising Case Zero and Scott Pilgrim. Very psyched to for Dead Rising actually, I loved the first game and can't wait for the proper second one. And old school 4 player action is always good.
Psyched for Dead Rising, just as I am for the full title. At 400 points I'm gonna bite.
How much did Burnout Paradise give out for free? Surely that would be more than what Red Dead has so far, making this a gigantic crock of ****.

I find the fact the you refer to him as Eggman, and not Robotnik, disturbing.

Yeah, sure. We don't like getting craploads of money, we are instead going back to playing in crappy bars and on street corners.

What the **** does that even mean?

Beyond High Definition: Young Anakin and Jar Jar and Boba Fett's ghosts

IT'S THE FUTURE
Maybe I'm crazy, but I really don't see Michael Cera as Michael Cera in this movie. Perhaps he's not quite like Pilgrim (I don't know, I've only read the first issue of the comics, though I ordered 1 through 5 a while back, I just find it very hard to follow), but he's not exactly the same dude he played in Superbad / Year One / whatever.

As for the movie itself, I really enjoyed it. Plot is good, it looks great visually, and its genuinely funny. Even the people I went with that either didn't know what it was or thought it looked **** enjoyed it.

I throughly enjoyed the movie, will buy the Blu Ray, and will hopefully get myself more into these damn comics I paid whatever dollars for and have been sitting on my shelf.
Is this the game with 1 million twoops? Also, is it extreeeeeeme?
What are you talking about, there's a lot of good Pokemon this gen (of the ones revealed in the post above, electric flying squirrel and grass bug are cool. Swan I could do without, but whatever). You're crazy.

Not a fan of this series. Annoys me because Depp is still my favourite actor. At least we have two films of his supposedly out this year in which he doesn't play a character in a silly costume (The Tourist with Angelina Jolie and The Rum Diary, a Hunter S Thompson story that is sure to be an awesome mindf@ck).

Anyway I saw the first Pirates film, kinda enjoyed it. Went to catch the second on opening day on Sunset Blvd but naturally it was booked out. Caught it back in Oz. Didn't even bother with the third. Guess I'm gonna have to play catch up, or *cringe* watch them all from the start since I've repressed most of what happens in the films.
...Or, just, not watch this one either? Considering you don't like the series, why waste time watching any of them?
Press release that announced the Oct 26 date also confirmed a simultaneous release for Australia and New Zealand. So yeah.
Sounds cool, but I'm not spending an extra $80 on a bunch of useless ****. I do that enough in other aspects of my life, thank you very much.

Heading to Bali tomorrow, I dare say most of my drinks over there will be on courtesy of the TAB.
I'm mad jealous you're going to Bali. I was there at the start of the year, and have recently really started itching to go back.

PS. Go do a bungie jump. While on fire. 'Twas awesome, I looked like something out of Dragonball Z mixed with Evel Knievel. Also get drunk, but I assume you've worked this out.
Saw The Karate Kid today. It was actually good, I was surprised. Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan played their parts well, it was entertaining, and the crappy Justin Bieber song was kept until the credits, I didn't have to listen to it during the movie. I was very pleasantly surprised.
The last two Pixar shorts I saw - Day & Night and Presto (I didn't see one in front of Up) were fantastic, though. Its not just the fact that Toy Story has already ended perfectly and doesn't need shorts, but the fact that we are presumably going to miss out on an original short for it.

Ah well, its Pixar, I'm sure they will be great (now Cars 2, on the other hand.....)

SMG2 is a phenomenal game.

Its has originality and shine that outclasses everything and makes you feel young again. Theres plenty (more than say 50) of new ideas in this that are not in the original. Apart from that, NOBODY makes games like this at all.

LittleBigPlanet is flawed, this is flawless. I reckon.

Just my 2 cents.
You've pretty much just hit on my 2 cents as well. The 'expansion' argument is such as strange one. Yeah, sure, Mario Galaxy 2 is fundamentally the same concept as Galaxy 1, and has the same basic setting, but it contains new levels, new powerups, and most importantly, a bunch of new ideas. If you can consider SMB1, SMB3 and SMW different games (and you damn well should), then what makes this an 'expansion' and those not?

But hell, even if it is, its expanding on a) the best game (or 'one of the best', if your one of those people whose opinions are close to right but not quite correct) of the generation and b) a game that hasn't been rehashed to death by a gazillion other developers (hell, it hasn't even been rehashed by one other developer).

Also, Karai, go get your damn power brick, so you can play it. Play it now.

Got around to seeing Toy Story 3.

Basically perfect in every way. Animation was astounding, writing top notch, and the story was great. It ended on probably the most perfect note I could think of, and wrapped up what is without a doubt one of my favourite trilogies ever.

I dont think Pixar intend to return to the Toy Story series ever again, and I hope it stays that way. Absolutely amazing.
They're doing a whole bunch of Toy Story shorts. First one is airing in front of (ugh) Cars 2.

I'd much prefer they left it here though, the whole series is fantastic.
Re: SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 (2 months ago)
I imported this a week ago, and got enough stars required to beat Bowser the other night. Anyhoo, wow. Phenomenal. I think its better than the first one. Every level just feels so fresh and different (even moreso than Galaxy 1, which also did this incredibly well). It reminds me of Yoshi's Island in that regard, which has to be my favourite game ever, so its certainly a good thing.

Controls still work like a charm (point and click Yoshi tongue is soooo good). Graphics still look great. Music is still fantastic. Just like with Galaxy 1, I feel like a little kid again (hell, moreso, with that dousing of nostalgia from that particular galaxy that I'm not going to spoil but made me smile when I first saw it).

The whole thing is brilliant. When this generation ends, I really think Galaxy 1 and 2 are going to sit right at the very top of the best games of this generation. Its fantastic.

(oh and putting in the world map system is the best idea ever, I want to get into the proper action, not run around the same stupid hub all the time looking for where the levels are - even though I still could, and actually Starship Mario isn't a bad mini hub at all.)

Why did he get a standing ovation for walking around the stage crying for a few minutes?
Because they didn't have to hear a Chris Brown song.
The bag option has been there in other footage. I saw someone suggesting that the 'shooter' option could be a very awkwardly named video recording option (you know, 'shooting') is there replacing 'bag' because its a VS battle and you can't use items there, but there is a VS recorder in the new games. Makes way too much sense.
New Pokeymans up on Serebii. Also 3 on 3 battles confirmed. Go go!

The big mole and mantis Pokemon look pretty cool. I imagine the other two in that battle (Sarcophagus!) would also. Rock spike thingo also looks cool. Actually, this whole set is pretty cool looking, the Pokemon from this gen are shaping up nicely.

The thing they think is a little mole looks like the back sprite of a bird Pokemon - specifically like an evo of the Pigeon we saw earlier - to me though

EDIT: Theres also a supposed leaked size chart for the anime which shows off new Pokeymans, including the grass and water starter's second evos. No idea if this is real, though. If it is, Smugleaf's evo is so lame (Smugleaf with extra leaves! Wow!), but Wotter's looks quite nice (appears to be Water / Fighting, or at least building to a Water / Fighting final evolution, which is cool). There's also some sort of koffing mixed with a bat and a larvitar looking thing. Anyways...

The DVDs were from Salvos, yes the Informant! was there (no idea, good for me though icon_smile.gif ) but the DVDs were $4 each, so I was going to pay 80cents change (I hate having change) and rest on Eftpos. But the lady messed up the register, then she told me that she had just put the DVDs through as 80cents all together icon_biggrin.gif She said that was fine and just gave them to me. Score!
Congratulations, you just ripped off the Salvation Army.

Next time, why not pay the $8 AND give them your change if you so hate having it? Its the Salvos, man. Jesus christ.

EDIT: Oh yeah, to keep this on topic, Mario Galaxy 2 arrived the other day. $70. woop woop.
Re: Toy Story 3 (2 months ago)
Pretty sure Toy Story 3 beat Shrek the Third's opening day gross, just not the opening weekend gross.
Jirachi is the next event, I do believe. He also is used to unlock some pokewalker course.
Re: Toy Story 3 (2 months ago)
So, I watched this today. And it was really, really good. A good story with a great bittersweet ending. I do have to say I preferred Up, but this movie was still phenomenal, and just as good as the past two movies.

Oh and I have to say I loved the short before.

Theo: were you joking? I don't see how you could be serious with that comment.
I wouldn't quite take it as far as Peveus did, and forgive my ignorance, but I don't see how one ALP leader is majorly different to another ALP leader? I understand the historical and political significance of course.
I know very little of politics. I do, however, know that [person A] will never be the same as [person B]. Just because two people are in the same political party doesn't mean they have the same opinion - if it did, then there wouldn't have been this leadership challenge in the first place, would there?

JB customer service has always been terrible in my opinion. And yet you practically have to write a thesis to apply for a job there, go figure.
...And then get that thesis tattooed / pierced onto yourself.
I watched them both, and thought they were pretty good. Not as good as the first series, but still, not all that bad. Maybe its just that I've been starved for Futurama, but I laughed out loud a few times, and they were both enjoyable enough stories (even the first one, which I was expecting to be crap). A good enough start, me thinks.

Is it 2 every week from now on, or just for the first week?
