Calm down fetid, take another toke and relax man, it's what you do best!
-EDIT-ooohh the end.Scary stuff.Though i smell a sequel in the works.A gritty reboot maybe?
I'm struggling to find a reason to even be here anymore... this place, i'll make a pie chart one of these days breaking down what makes up palgn in 2010, mostly made up of bernkills man boobs, guys digitally dry humping pixie girl and people whining about how bad religion is.

It's just so darn hip to hate on religion isn't it?
Mind you the hippest of the hip hate on Christianity, if you hate on Islam or Judaism or anything besides the Big C you'll be labelled a racist by your fellow hipsters, so remember, stay the course, hate on the bible, Jesus, all that kinda stuff and remember to blame all of society's ills on it.
Unless it suddenly becomes cool not too.
By gum you better be quick to about face though, teens today are pretty fickle what with their energy drinks and tight jeans. One minute you'll be swimming upstream with the other glassy eyed salmon, next you'll be swimming the other way, just remember to follow the crowd; that way you'll never be wrong

Wow top photos man!
You look ace, you look like you've lost a few kilos and hit the gym in preparation for the big day out.
I was always convinced Mel was too good for you, but after seeing those shots i think it might be the other way round rawwwrr (bad j/k)
Oh and by your way that ring...
it's like you were eating a stuffed crust pizza and were trying to figure where to fit more diamonds and noticed all the cheese in the crust and like a flash of lightning it came to you
Nice work old bean, i'm really happy for you lovestruck kids.

Ugh, it's nearly as bad as when the irc crew (aka the special friends) used that spastic avatar of theirs as some sort of inside joke / elitist badge
The first comment, spacebreaks, i thought was from James, but then i thought it odd when he started to congratulate himself at the end of his post.

So, i wonder how long someone will blame video games for that kid that was stabbed to death yesterday?
I'm just waiting for it now, the media to say that 'the 13 yr old charged with the murder of a 12 yr old schoolboy was an avid video game player, with his favourite game being Grand Theft Auto 4, where players are encouraged and even rewarded for stabbing to death innocent passers by, the most points going to the player who kills the most people'
And then when that happens, Atkinson has the all the ammo he needs, a high profile death 'linked' to video games.
Egh.Not to take away from the tragedy that is the loss of this poor young buggers life, but the knock on effect this will have from the media trying to point the finger at an easy scapegoat will cause , ahem, complications.

Re: Laptop for a *GAMING* Student (6 months ago)
lol gaming student, way to oxymoron.
Well if thats the case spanca(i cbf reading through 2 pages of back and forth quotes and reqoutes) then i put it to the arguers (arguees?)why not also have all cars fitted with breathalyzers, some sort of scanning machine that scans your licence and makes sure it current, and a built in taser that shoots you point blank in the face that can be remotely activated by pursuing police?
Now, if this speeding law introduced some sort of across the board speed limiter to be fitted to all new cars and retrofitted to all existing models, yeah, i'd have a beef with that, big time, but these laws aren't directed at the guy doing 118 on a 110 highway, they're pinpointing the street dickheads who consistently wipe themselves out and their passengers, sometimes others on the road even as occupants of another car or pedestrians.
The car crushing thing too is pretty clever.I mean, most of these hoons love their cars so much, and if it were impounded would scrounge the money to buy it back, and if not, would at least like it to be on sold to someone else...but to see all their sweat and tears reduced to a metal cube.....it might be enough to deter them.

It's the reason i haven't clocked windwaker.
Sort of a chicken and the egg thing i guess if i were to follow your rationale.
Anyways, no point in complaining, he's the new link through and through, this would have to be about the 4th game with his likeness in it.

groan, rise old topic, rise!
Dusting this topic off specially cause i stumbled across this...
That's the header image at this weirdo arabic online flash gaming site, you can click up the top to change the language to english if you visit the link below
Now where have we seen that tank at that angle before???
..
BAM
I thought that was a downright ripper!I scoured that site to see if they actually had a game you could play based upon that header image(something generic like 'tank wars' or some crap) but to no avail.
So yeah, any other examples people have found?

At a cafe where I used to work the boss advertised for waitresses and kitchenhands. If she didn't like the look of a person she would throw the resume out without even bothering to read it.
I remember one in particular. The guy came in, he was dressed in winter clothes even though it was summer, and he was wearing these big arse headphones. On his resume he wrote all this crap that was completely irrelevant to the job. It was all computer related stuff. Under skills he wrote how great he was at making "UT maps".
It's very discriminatory, and soul crushing for the unemployed. I'm dreading going back to the whole process of applying, doing interviews, being rejected. It's a mental health issue. A mate of mine has been unemployed for a few months now and every time I see him he's a little bit more depressed. It's kind of sad how much money dictates our happiness (unless of course you're one of those fortune few who is not completely addicted to buying materialistic items). And a sense of purpose. As much as we all hate to work, it gives a reason to get up every day.

Cause if all she did was throw his resume out without reading it he got off lightly.
What a d-bag.Run a comb through your hair, wear some nice pants(not jeans....) and a button shirt and your more then half way their without even showing them your resume.

Is it just me who finds it questionable to reveal that sort of information about yourself on the internet so freely?
I couldn;t care less where you take it and how you give it, but if you fly the rainbow flag don't be so damned shocked that it will bring out the haters.Yes, maybe, in some sort of sci fi movie, utopian society all races and all religions and all sexual preferences will dance around and play patty cake but until then, get a reality check.
Yeah, it sucks, but tough really, and more to the point, why is anyones sexuality becoming an issue on an internet forum anyway?
Look at it both ways, it SHOULDN'T matter how you swing, but that applies to both parties-the haters, and the people announcing it and parading it around.
If a topic came up and it was relevant, sure, don't hold back, but when people are midway through a sentence about buying a pepsi in the newest purchases thread and then just casually slip in 'oh and i'm a homosexual and proud of it!' with no relevance to the topic or post, well not only do you come off as a total attention seeker but your painting a big red cross on yourself.
Basically, i don't think i'm alone here when i say i tell me about what your playing or what movie you've seen..... but i don't care about your sexuality and it's none of my business; so stop telling me all about it.

Re: Movies (Rules on First Page) (7 months ago)
Infernal affairs is one of the best movies i have ever seen, subtitles and all, and then i watched the departed a few months afterwards and nearly barfed. What a TERRIBLE movie!
Jack puts in one of the worst performances i have ever seen, it's like it was a friday movie and he just couldnt be ****, and damon is damn near indecipherable with that boston accent slathered on as thick as vegemite. It runs about an hour too long and to top it off the drop the big 'twist' that made infernal affairs so poignant.
Just a terrible movie, boy was i pissed off after watching that pos.

Re: Indian Man attacked and set alight in Melbourne (7 months ago)
^island is correct though, she did say 'communication'.While speaking the language is great, sometimes a white guy who can speak anothers language isn't enough to 'communicate' with a fellow of a different race.
Kind of a quasi reverse racism in that regard, where say an asian might be more willing to talk to another asian cop about some sort of police matter purely because he's asian. It doesn't matter if the white guy is fluent in mandarin or what have you, the asian witness may feel he has more of an affinity with someone of a similar race, and therefore probably a similar background, religion, upbringing etc.EVen if the white guy was say, adopted by asian parents and raised traditionally chinese, the witness takes a look, see's white, and clams up, because they assume that cracker-jack wouldn't 'get' where they were coming from and the struggles they have faced.
To 'communicate' doesn't only encompass being able to speak the language, it's about relating to people and finding a common footing, and from there you can branch out.
Hell, it's why most white people have white friends, most asian people have asian friends etc.I'm not saying they only have friends of a common ethnicity and nor am i saying that they are subliminally racist and only doing so, i'm saying it's easier for people to do this as people of a similar ethnicity have a higher likelihood of sharing other things, knowing the same people, liking the same sports, eating the same food-all the stuff that makes friends...friends.
It's pretty common for the police to do this, they do have certain divisions that handle gang related crimes, like the asian crime squad, or a division that handle liaisons with aboriginal communities-you can bet your top dollar that the asian squad would have an asian officer(s) and the liaison officers would be predominately aboriginal.

I completely agree with EatChildren. Visually stunning, however a flawed film. Again it was mainly the Army general who got my goat. And what was with the mech fight with a giant knife at the finale of the film.
I lol'd. And not in a good way.
Having said that, I did enjoy the film. I went in with very low expectations and it was much better than I anticipated. Hell I even got emotionally invested, which surprised me. But by no means do I think is was a masterpiece, hell I don't even think I'd list it in my favourite films for 2009. Lets face it, it sure ain't no Terminator 2, but it was very enjoyable.

Re: What really ticks you off? (8 months ago)
Again? Your a stallion theory!

I don't think the two are comparable.
If you don't speed then it won't affect you, they cry! If you don't look at kiddy porn, then it won't affect you, they cry!
It's not about speeding, nor is it about child pornography or similarly distasteful material. It's about governments introducing laws that are horribly misdirected, laws that inhibit the freedom of individuals and do little to fix the problem that they're supposedly introduced for. Speed doesn't kill, it's stopping suddenly that kills. That can be made worse by speed, but it's the poor driver skills, poor attentiveness and poor conditions that cause accidents. If it was simply speed that killed then by that logic every car on a racetrack should kill its driver due to the increased speed. They don't. What's missing is the worse roads, drivers not paying attention, drivers going too fast for the conditions and drivers going too fast for their own abilities.
Fix the drivers, not the cars. Fix the Internet offenders, not the Internet.
The SMH article.
